I feel in control of my life

Prior to joining Forever, I had taken time out to get married, project manage our new ‘old’ farm, run a flock of sheep and have three children.

I’m a bit of a ‘Jill of All Trades’. My first role was as a ‘lad’ (a jockey riding racehorses), the most exciting was working as a pilot for Air UK and the most worthwhile has been with Forever.

I have been in Forever since 1995 and joined with my husband, as we needed to make money. We had lost our family business and were facing debt. With three small children, I could not easily return to work. My husband had been involved with two other network marketing companies previously, so I understood the model and knew it could work – I just had not found a product I liked enough get behind.

It was important to me to be involved with a consumable product that I used and liked, with a company that was ethical and one I trusted and believed in.

My Forever journey has been a learning curve, both personally and technologically. The world changes and we must change with it, although the basic principles remain the same as they did when I first joined.

I have had other businesses on the side over the years prior to Forever. I love creative thinking and personal development, so I understand better. I never saw myself as a coach before, but now it’s the most important part of what I do.

I love what I do more than ever. I have a clear plan of what I want to achieve, including Chairman’s Bonus again. I am organised and have a timeline every month to do various activities, so I always know what I am going to do. I work hard for four hours a day. I have always worked at whatever project I have undertaken; I get bored easily, but realise you have to do enough of anything to make it work. It’s still exciting.

Being a Forever Business Owner means holding yourself personally accountable. The buck stops with you; you make the decisions, both good and bad. Sometimes I get it wrong, but many times, I get it right (hurrah). I have learned that my decision-making is just as good as any of my old bosses!

There have been many personal challenges. My life has been unstable at times and Forever has provided with stability. I don't think I have reached my greatest achievement yet.

Over the years, I have trained numerous horses, project managed, or been involved with the conversion of 12 houses, including three farms. I paid for and learnt to fly, including buying my own plane with my brother. I taught myself to ski. I have raised three children under three with very little help. I supported my mother through five years of Dementia.

We all change through this process called life. I am rich in friends. My children share my goals and, together, we can achieve them. I like helping others with our products and our business. I need and like the money. I like having enough to be able to help others. I want my children to be able to inherit the business and understand how it works.

I hope to own another small farm at some point. I want to leave a personal legacy of business behaviour to my team, my customers and my family. I am proud to be who I am. I am happy and content and feel good about my future.

There was a time when I was so worried about what the future would hold for my family and me. I live well within my means and I have been able to help my children. I save every month. I feel in control of my life, as an independent woman.

It's a great feeling.
