Full steam ahead

I joined Forever in March 2015 and it’s been one of the best decisions of my life. Before Forever I owned my own salon, but unfortunately I had to close it after having my little boy, Samuel, in 2013. This closure was painful; it had taken many years of time, money and sacrifice to get it to a healthy state, but I just couldn’t afford to run it whilst having time off with my baby. Suddenly I’d gone from a high flying business owner to a stay-at-home mum. This was lovely at first, but I was missing my career.

One day, when I was on maternity leave, I randomly decided to go back on Facebook (I hadn’t been on for two years) and reconnect with an old friend – Emma. Although I hadn’t spoken to Emma for over ten years, I was intrigued to learn more about her new wellbeing business. She told me about Forever and the opportunities it was giving her and her family and within days I had signed up; I just knew this was the start of something exciting!

In April 2015, whilst at the Success Express event, I had my light bulb moment. I saw the vision, and I knew that with hard work and persistence I was capable of achieving it. Within eight weeks of signing up I hit Supervisor, but to be honest, hitting Supervisor so quickly was never planned. It wasn’t until Emma messaged me that I knew anything about it! At this point I still didn’t really even understand the Marketing Plan, but I was excited and willing to talk about the products to anyone who would listen; finally, being told I was a constant chatterbox had paid off! Despite this, I knew getting to the next promotion wasn’t going to be as easy – I needed a team behind me. I realised I needed to do what I’d done with the products but instead speak about the business opportunity, and soon enough I had my team; now my focus is on helping them achieve their goals.

The most rewarding part has definitely been the team element. It’s been the cherry on the cake knowing that I’m part of their journey, and I’m excited for us all. Forever has given me more than an extra income; it has given me my drive back. It allows me to be a mummy but also a business owner. Not many companies allow you to do both and I’m eternally grateful to my sponsors and dear friends for thinking of me when they were building their teams.
