Forever Helped Me Through

Wendy

Wendy lives in Fermanagh, Northern Ireland and works in two nursing roles: one as a senior staff nurse at a local hospital, and another in a nursing and governance capacity in the private sector…

Five years ago, I started to use Forever’s products after hearing about them form the manager at a local nursery where my daughter Rachael worked. I first started using the Aloe Vera drinking gel. I was both impressed and surprised at how much better I started feeling and became a regular gel drinker. Over time I increased the range of products I was using, I didn’t think much about starting a Forever business myself but after three months of being a customer it felt like a natural next step. I was feeling and looking better, my skin and hair had improved, and I had more energy. People noticed and were asking me what I was doing.  Retailing the products came easily as a result and within six months I was making around £800 a month. I bought some garden furniture and paid to have a white filling; things that I wouldn’t have normally spent money on, and my daughter Rachael and I went on a couple of holidays. I didn’t spend too much time thinking about network marketing as it felt as though the products were selling themselves. I was consistent in my activity and started to build a team; again this happened quite organically. I changed my car which I referred to as my ‘Forever’ car.

In February 2021 life as I had known it stopped. My daughter Rachael was very suddenly taken ill, and within twenty-four hours of being admitted to hospital we were informed that she would not recover. She had sepsis resulting in massive organ failure. We had no options, and gave our consent that the machines should be turned off.

Losing a child is not the natural order of things. It should not happen but it did. I continued to work, I continued to work my Forever business, distracting myself from my grief at losing my little girl, and two months after Rachael’s death I achieved the position of Manager on the marketing plan. I felt Rachael’s presence and encouragement to keep going, so I did.  Distraction only works for so long and in the run up to the anniversary of Rachael’s death my coping strategies stopped working and I had a breakdown.

I know that life will never be the same again, you grow your life around your grief. I have been able to reduce my nursing hours to four days a week thanks to my Forever income and have now trained as a grief counsellor. Last year I recorded my TedTalk ‘Grief on another level’. Forever’s flexibility has allowed me to step back as I continue each day without my Rachael. My future trajectory will include supporting others as they deal with unthinkable heartbreak. I received and continue to receive so much care and support through my ‘Forever family’. It makes me grateful as I embark on a path, unchartered, taking me where?  We shall see, but Rachael is with me.
