A dream team

Zoe

Zoe is a PE teacher who worked full time for twenty-one years...

When I had my first daughter seven years ago, I struggled getting back into work after maternity leave as I went back full time. Then when I had my twins, who are now coming up for five, I decided to cut my hours down to four days a week - I just didn’t seem to have enough hours in my day. Dropping that one day at work meant I had to take a large pay cut as I had to step down from my position as head of year. We had to tighten our belt in lots of different areas.

I had never heard of Forever before my sponsor introduced me to it, but what attracted me was the fact that she is also a mum to twins and understands how hard it is. I saw what she was doing, and the benefits of being able to work a business in pockets of time. I also saw all the incentives that the company offered as well as extra prizes and giveaways – I couldn’t see another company that offered so much. Forever’s supportive network also appealed to me. I could see my sponsor was always out and about with the girls in her team and I was drawn to the fact that it’s not just about the business, there is a whole social side too.

I’m not a very spontaneous person so it took a while before I said, ‘OK, let’s give it a go.’ I am a natural worrier, and I had a list as long as my arm of questions and ‘what if’s’. My main worry was whether I had enough time, but I also worried about being able to find customers and questioned whether people would buy from me. I had a call with my sponsor about my reservations and she was able to answer all of them.

I completed Forever’s C9 in my first month of business and recorded my results. From that, I ended up selling twenty-eight C9 programmes to friends, family and people on my VIP page. My business just escalated from there and I made Supervisor in about two months. I got a team together; I signed one of my friends and her business took off, then she signed someone who’s business also took off. The ball started rolling and before I knew it Manager was in sight.

I went on holiday in August for three weeks and I was a bit worried about the effect this would have on my business, but I managed to keep it ticking over while I was away - that’s the beauty of the business. It was the holiday of a lifetime and I put my retail profits and bonuses towards it. We had a week in Disneyland, LA, a week driving up the Californian coast, stopping off each night in a different place and then a week in Oregon staying on the coast. Disneyland has been my dream since the girls were born. I really wanted them to experience the magic of Disney, see all the characters and meet all the princesses. I will cherish the photos forever because of their faces and how they were when we were there – it was just magical!

I have always been quite an organised person but working the business has enhanced my organisational skills because I want to fit business time in as well as everything else. It’s about using any little pockets of time that you have to send some quick messages or a quick post. Even though my life is so busy, Forever has fitted in perfectly. it doesn’t eat into any of my family time, and it doesn’t take away any social time.

To anyone considering a Forever business I would say don’t think about it, just do it. Have the courage to do it so you don’t regret it later. I look back now and think if I had stopped worrying, I would have joined twelve months earlier and I wonder where I would be now if I had done that. I almost feel like I’m on the back foot now because of it. Don’t overthink things, it’s a dream stealer.

I feel like Forever has given me a bit of me back. I am not just a mummy or a wife or a teacher – I have my own business and I’m extremely proud of how far I’ve come. It has given me self confidence and the belief that I can do anything I put my mind to.
