It doesn’t feel like work

Meet Melissa, a Cotswolds-based mom of two, and dedicated animal charity worker. Her journey with Forever began with using the C9 program. At first, the business opportunity didn't quite resonate, but life's twists and turns brought her back to it.
What made you decide to join Forever?
“I had completed Forever’s C9 around four years ago and I felt great. I considered the business opportunity briefly but it just didn’t seem to be a fit for me at that time, in truth I probably didn’t give it much thought. Things change over time. My husband runs his own business, and over the past year or so I have increasingly felt that I want to contribute more to the household especially in light of escalating bills.
A defining moment was when I had to choose between whether we would go on holiday, or have new carpets. I realised that I didn’t want to have to make these choices and to feel so limited, so when Esther reached out to me again about the opportunity I had a conversation with an open mind, and a real desire to make changes in our family finances.
I am passionate about health and wellbeing, and when I researched both aloe vera and Forever Living I knew I had found something that was completely aligned with my interests and my ethics. Working for an animal charity it was extremely important to me that Forever doesn’t test on animals. I had no hesitation in joining. I am now entering my third month of business, I have recruited four team members and am enjoying retailing the products. I feel so much more alive and excited that my enthusiasm is affecting everyone. My husband has seen a marked change in me as a person and has embraced the products too. The ripple effect in our family has taken us all by surprise.”
What are some of the benefits you have found in starting your own business?
“I am extremely organised and understand the importance of following up with prospects and customers. I am able to spend some time on Mondays and Tuesdays working on the business activities while my children are at school, and I also join a team training on a Monday evening which is invaluable. Working this alongside my part-time job hasn’t impacted our family time at all. I think when you are doing something you are really enjoying, it doesn’t feel like work and the activity comes easily.
I am on track to achieve the Leap to London incentive which is very exciting; even my children are taking an interest. I was waiting to hear about achieving my second month of 4CC activity when I was out on a Cubs hike with my son; when I got the news we celebrated together. Leap to London is providing the short-term goal that is really allowing me to focus my activity and the end result feels tangible. I can see myself there in February. What an exciting chapter of my life.
